Project Eleven Launches Strongpoint for Post-Quantum Custody

Project Eleven has launched Strongpoint, an institutional custody platform designed for digital assets during the transition to post-quantum cryptography. The Zcash Foundation is an initial development partner, contributing expertise in privacy-preserving cryptography and protocol engineering.

Indeed, this launch addresses a complex challenge: various blockchains are migrating to quantum-safe signatures at different rates and with diverse methods, posing a problem for institutions that hold assets across multiple networks and want to avoid repeatedly rebuilding their security infrastructure.

Strongpoint’s Functionality

Project Eleven describes Strongpoint as a unified control layer for managing and securing digital assets, even as the underlying cryptographic standards evolve. The platform emphasizes “crypto-agility,” which means that it’s possible to update signature schemes, but key management, transaction approval, and auditing infrastructure remain consistent.

According to CEO Alex Pruden, as The Quantum Insider reports, traditional custody solutions were not built for a world where cryptography is subject to frequent change, an assumption that quantum computing challenges.

Key details from the launch include:

  • Initial Development Partner: Zcash Foundation, providing insights on handling shielded ZEC and privacy-preserving key management.
  • Deployment Target: Production aims for Q4 2026, with a limited group of development partners preceding general availability.
  • Early Access: Institutions can request early access via projecteleven.com/strongpoint.
  • Company Funding: A total of $26 million has been raised, including a $20 million Series A led by Castle Island Ventures in January 2026.
  • Recent Acquisition: Riva Labs, for its expertise in post-quantum signature and wallet engineering.

It’s worth noting that the launch materials do not specify any particular NIST standard, such as FIPS 204 (ML-DSA) or FIPS 205 (SLH-DSA), nor do they claim FIPS 140-3 module validation or independent security review.

Comparison with Exposure Management

Thus far, most efforts in quantum-risk management for digital asset custody have focused on identifying and mitigating exposed public keys rather than implementing new signatures. In July 2026, BitGo introduced quantum-risk management features for Bitcoin wallets.

These capabilities include tracking public-key exposure through a Bitcoin Quantum Resistance Score and providing tools to transfer funds from exposed addresses, as detailed in their capabilities blog. BitGo emphasizes that these controls are not a substitute for protocol-level post-quantum signature upgrades.

This distinction highlights where Strongpoint aims to position itself. Project Eleven’s research revealed that as of September 25, 2026, only 10 of the 20 largest Layer 1 assets by market capitalization had published a network-specific migration path, collectively proposing at least six different signature schemes.
