EigenQ Wants to Quantum-Proof Old Xeon Servers Before 2027
EigenQ said that its post-quantum security platform and quantum entropy tech now work with Intel’s secure computing architecture, so agencies can protect the Xeon servers they already run instead of replacing them. Space contractor BlackVe signed on as a customer and plans to build a secure video system on it, including encrypted video teleconferencing. The timing tracks with the NSA’s CNSA 2.0 schedule, which expects new national-security deployments to support quantum-resistant algorithms from January 1, 2027.
Why the 2027 clock makes this land now
According to the July 6 press release, CNSA 2.0 is the NSA standard that sets which quantum-resistant algorithms national-security systems must run and by when, calling for ML-KEM-1024 and ML-DSA-87. The problem is the installed base. Intel Xeon has powered federal data centers and defense back ends for over a decade, and that hardware won’t retire on the NSA’s clock.
It keeps holding sensitive data, and it stays a target for harvest-now-decrypt-later collection, where an adversary grabs encrypted traffic today and cracks it once a capable quantum computer exists. EigenQ’s answer is a retrofit. Its QMA entropy tech and PQC+ libraries attach to Intel’s secure platform so deployed Xeon systems pick up protection without a hardware refresh. Intel Fellow Srini Krishna backing the approach on the record gives the claim weight a startup couldn’t earn alone.

What EigenQ isn’t telling you yet
Aiming at deployed hardware is the right call, since that’s where the exposure actually sits. But the announcement runs on soft verbs. The release never explains how QMA and PQC+ connect to the Xeon platform, and it skips pricing, availability, integration detail, and any third-party validation beyond the Intel and BlackVe quotes. The CNSA 2.0 pressure behind it is serious, so the questions that count start where the release stops.
