pQCee Raises $3.9 Million to Expand Its Post-Quantum Security Business
pQCee, a Singapore-based quantum-safe cybersecurity company, has raised US$3.9 million in a seed round co-led by SGInnovate and Lotus One Investment. It is the company’s second institutional raise, following a $2.8 million round in 2022. The money will fund hiring and expansion across Asia and into the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
What pQCee’s products do
The company builds tools to help organizations move to post-quantum cryptography, the encryption designed to withstand future quantum computers. Its main products are SafeQuard, an encryption platform aimed at “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks, where adversaries store encrypted data today to crack once quantum machines are capable enough, and QKDLite, middleware for managing cryptographic keys. It also offers post-quantum certificate tools and a browser-based 20-qubit simulator.
According to the July 17 report, pQCee says its products are used by critical infrastructure operators, government agencies, and financial institutions, and it has partnerships with Thales, Microsoft, PQShield, Feitian, Netrust, and SendQuick to support enterprise deployment.
Why the funding matters despite the hype
This is a modest seed round funding expansion, not a product launch or technical milestone. Descriptions like “leading provider” and “groundbreaking technology” are the company’s own framing.
The underlying demand is real enough. The move to quantum-resistant encryption is a genuine, slow-moving shift, which is what keeps drawing capital to companies building migration tools regardless of any single round.
