Israeli Quantum Firms Quantum Art and Classiq Eye SPAC Listings
Two of Israel’s best-funded quantum computing companies are in advanced talks to list on Wall Street through SPAC mergers, according to YNet News, citing a report from Calcalist. Quantum Art and Classiq could each be valued between $2 billion and $5 billion if the deals go through. Both companies declined to comment.
Two Companies, Two Parts of the Stack
Quantum Art, founded in 2022, is building a trapped-ion quantum computer, storing information in charged atoms held by electromagnetic fields. It employs about 60 people and recently raised $140 million, bringing its total to about $200 million.
Its founders include Tal David, former head of Israel’s national quantum program. Public trapped-ion companies like IonQ and Quantinuum have reached valuations near $20 billion, though Quantum Art is reportedly seeking less because it has little revenue. The report says it is further along and could become the first Israeli quantum company on Wall Street, possibly before the end of 2026.
Classiq, founded in 2020, builds software that lets organizations write quantum applications that run across different machines. It has raised about $200 million from backers including AMD, Qualcomm, IonQ, and SoftBank, and works with Nvidia, Microsoft, and AWS, with customers such as BMW, Rolls-Royce, and Citi. Its revenue runs in the tens of millions, high for the sector. Classiq may raise another private round before listing to push for a stronger valuation.
A SPAC Wave Meets Thin Revenue
The talks fit a wider rush. Five quantum startups have gone public through SPAC mergers since the start of 2026, another five are in advanced discussions, and around 30 SPACs are hunting for targets. The listed companies carry a combined valuation near $70 billion.
The numbers behind those valuations are thin. Publicly traded quantum firms often trade above 100 times annual sales. Rigetti, an early SPAC entrant, reportedly carries a valuation around $7 billion on about $7 million in revenue. The prices rest on the bet that fault-tolerant machines, which do not yet exist, eventually arrive.
